Tuesday: 9/11
Short post today. The
truck needed its 5,000 mile oil change and I didn’t want to wait till Oregon. What really convinced me was the local Ford
dealer was offering a 10% discount and no appointment for people who were
staying at our campground. So off we
went to get the oil changed. I also had
them do the 45,000 maintenance as it is close and I wasn’t sure what was done
to the truck before I got it. Now I know
where to start the maintenance on this truck.
The next major maintenance is at 60,000.
Now that the truck is tuned up, I took it for a wash and
wax. I have always been a fanatic about
a clean vehicle so this wash took me quite a while, 2 hours.
This day 11 years ago I was at work in Newark NJ and witnessed
the senseless attach on NYC. I will NOT forget!!
Tomorrow we are off to Idaho.
Stay tuned!

It’s good that you keep up with the maintenance. :D Others don’t even bother. Also, be sure your tires are always fully pressurized as well, before you set off on the road. This, as you might very well know, prevents blowouts and may also improve your mileage.

Also try to rotate the tires so that the ridges wouldn’t be unevenly smoothened out. Uneven ridges would make for a bumpy ride, and uneven ridges would also tell you if there are alignment issues with the steering.
